Offerings made for you alone
Release what you carry
Holy water, poured phase by phase
Peace and abundance, asked for you

Before you arrive, the priest is already preparing your offerings. Flowers, fruit, hand-woven leaves — made for you, for this ceremony, for no one else.
Melukat is the ritual Bali has used to purify itself for centuries. Not a demonstration for visitors. The same ceremony Balinese families live in their own temples — opened for you and yours in a private family temple in Ubud.
The priest prays in Sanskrit, the language of Balinese prayer. And he doesn't pray for the sake of it: every word asks for something specific for you — that what you carry leaves, that abundance, peace, love and prosperity arrive.
Then the water comes. The priest pours holy water over you, again and again, and with each pour something lifts. You feel it in your body: lighter, cleaner, returned to a starting point you didn't know you'd lost.
You arrive and we hand you the traditional attire you'll wear for the ceremony. Nothing to bring but comfortable clothes and a change for afterwards.
The priest begins. He places the offerings, lights the incense and starts to pray. Each phase of the ritual has its intention, its gesture, its moment.
And you don't watch from the outside. You take part in every phase, guided by the priest step by step — what to do, when, how. You're part of the ritual from beginning to end, not a spectator with a camera.
When it is over, you feel it. Something stayed in that temple, and you walk out different.
"An absolutely transformative experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt a wave of calm — but the real magic happened during the session itself. I left feeling completely centred, aligned, and deeply present within myself; I could physically and emotionally feel the shift, a feeling I haven't experienced in a very long time."
"Melukat" comes from old Balinese: to cleanse the soul of the energies that cloud it. For the Balinese it isn't wellness or relaxation — it's a sacred practice that runs through generations, part of how they understand life, death and everything in between.
Water is at the centre. In Balinese cosmology, holy water — tirta — connects the human world to the world of the gods. That's why a priest always leads the ceremony: he's the one who knows how to ask, who knows the words and the exact order of every phase.
What you live isn't a version made for tourists. It's the same ritual, in a real family temple, led by someone who has done it his whole life.
